edible CT EAST is the only publication dedicated to discovering and celebrating the best in local food and drink culture across eastern Connecticut - connecting you with the farmers, growers, makers, fishers, vintners, brewers, chefs, and others who contribute their energy and passion to healthy, sustainable, and delicious local food.  And, of course, we’ll cover farmers markets, product sources, and offer unique recipes for you to bring local food to your own table.

From pig farms to sunflower fields, from vineyards to the shoreline, edible CT EAST explores all the wonderful diversity of our bountiful state.  Discover the newest, freshest places and see your favorite haunts in delightful new ways.

Delivering a more sophisticated take on what drives the local food community’s passions, edible CT EAST creates a deep level of engagement and loyalty among our readers, creators, and partners.

Published 4x/year in March, June, September, and December to fully reflect nature’s seasonal cycles and harvests.

Live, love, eat local.

R. Shane Kennedy

Born in Albuquerque, NM, Shane loves the outdoors and ice cold river plunges!  He loves to cook and eat of course, but importantly, he believes in the health and life affirming values of real food, whether grown, raised, foraged, hunted, or fished.

As an advertising executive in New York, at agencies including McCann, Y&R, and TBWA\Chiat\Day, Shane specialized in healthcare which has lead him to the understanding that food is medicine.  Food keeps us healthy and can even heal us.  So the opportunity to explore all the great local food available in Connecticut while growing edible CT EAST has been the perfect storm of interests and passions!
