MISE EN PLACE ...

Welcome to Spring! I grew up in New Mexico and spent a decade in California, but I was ultimately drawn to New England for the dramatic seasonal changes. We believe Spring offers a fresh start along with the richest colors and ideal weather!

So, for something new. We absolutely love hearing from our readers and supporters so thought we’d share some recent input. You’ll see that our readers and our supporters are really special people.

From a subscriber – “Please enroll me in a subscription. Saw at a brewery and love the content and diversity in restaurants.”

From a reader, Judy Bourdeau – the cover of her card says, “I always jump for joy” and she writes on the inside, “…when I get my edible CT EAST magazine!” Wow! “The new magazine cover (Winter 2022) put a huge smile on my face. My son always got oysters for us for Christmas, and we’d start a few days early. We like them just like the cover!

“This issue is inspired! From the editor’s letter to the contributor’s offerings, all the pictures, and even the advertising! How do you do all that you do? You had me at page three right off the bat.

R. Shane Kennedy, publisher Edible CT East“I think you are on the edge of a cultural shift, away from a “me” society. There is a line in a song - everything counts in large amounts. Like you said, it gets multiplied.

“Once we get out of ourselves, great things happen, Thank you for reinforcing that in this issue.” Thank you Judy. Your card was what's inspired!

From a supporter – “We had a major sales day thanks to edible CT EAST! A couple saw the article and the ad, drove to the shop, then made the purchase. And we had another new client come in as well to how we could help her with her clients!”

Many thanks to our new supporters this issue – Flanders Fish Market (East Lyme) Highclere Castle Gin (Essex), and SeePlymouth (Plymouth, MA). Please visit them and tell them you saw them in edible CT EAST!

We do have some spectacular stories for you. From the amazing new Gather 55 restaurant to the evolution of The Shipwright’s Daughter to Highclere Castle Gin, where they’re mixing New England tastes with the tastes of England!

We’re so thrilled to be a part of your lives and thankful for those who take the time to write! It means a lot to us.

With gratitude to all,
R. Shane Kennedy
